here's an extensive and ever-growing list of further reading
Let me open this page by saying, PLEASE READ MY BLOG (and start at the beginning in August 2012, i.e. read from bottom to top)! It's the one location where all I've learned gets synthesized into coherent posts - for now anyway. I continue to work on my book, but even when I submit that to Balboa Press, they need up to 180 days to turn it around). Other than that, I feel inspired to say:
"Yes, I have read ALL the books I list here, and watched the movies I list below. I never recommend anything that I haven't tested myself. Granted, some books (movies) are better than others. No single one holds all the wisdom I've gathered over the years (which is why this list is long and growing, and why I'm writing a book myself!). So, as with anything:
And be very disciplined with those four steps to keep your energetic space clear and your mind agile. Also, while some of this reading may have happened decades ago, and I may not be able to remember every word in every book if you were to quizz me today, I've done it. ALL these books are on my list for you for a reason! They were stepping stones on my way to who and where I am today, so kindly stop wasting time and energy and take the first step on YOUR journey to complete self-empowerment, health and happiness!"
I've started out by going through my kindle library that I keep close for referencing at all times, and then through all my Amazon (real book) orders since 1999 in reverse chronological order. There are some German language titles in there - please ignore if you don't speak the language. I'll eventually add the best titles from my extensive non-virtual library - but at the moment, it's all boxed up. So, this is what I currently have available for you virtually. It should keep you busy until I can add more. ;-)
Overall, you will find an eclectic range and mix of topics. This is wholly intentional and reflects my broad range of interests, and wide reaching reading even when I was (supposedly) up over my ears in the early days of my finance career. I ALWAYS made time for reading up on and starting to implement those things that I needed to make my life easier and more pleasurable. And I highly recommend reading books from different walks of life back to back, rather than compartmentalizing. When reading a spiritual book followed by a finance book followed by Gandhi's autobiography, you're much more likely to pick up on generally valid patterns than by sticking to one topic area until you've exhausted it. That's one of the reasons I did better when not wholly submerging myself in the CFA curriculum every single year I took one of those exams, but interspersed it with personal reading preferences, and kept myself healthy while studying for those bugger exams.
Look at it this way: 10 minutes a day on any topic that you know is of interest - that's doable. I managed to squeeze that time in as breakfast reading, so started my day out with the new info, and had a remarkably open mind for the remainder of the day that enabled me to think more creatively in my day job, as well. My suggestion for this list: print it out, close your eyes and point your finger to the first book to read. After that, follow your intuition for the next step. Trust that you are divinely guided on your very personal journey. And most of all: enjoy! Have fun with this life!

- read/watch with an open mind,
- endure the ambivalence,
- pick the gold nuggets for your personal practice,
- discard the rest.
