My Birthday Prayer

The day before my 33rd birthday, I sat contemplating the meaning of this day for myself, for my mother, my father, and everyone else in my life. Here's my conclusion, in the form of a prayer:

I bow in gratitude for Mother Earth.

I bow in gratitude for Father Sun.

I bow in gratitude for my divine life.



I bow in gratitude for my human mother, who brought me forth into this world, to become my own mother and that of my children.

I bow in gratitude for my human father, who planted the divine seed that allowed me to grow into the strong woman I am today.

I bow in gratitude for the wisdom of my human mother that allows her to release me into my purpose and life. Fully.

I bow in gratitude for the strength of my human father that has always guided him to keep me safe, and now flows beautifully into holding the energetic container that will allow me to grow into my full expression.



I bow in gratitude for the guidance of my mind that keeps me safe.
I bow in gratitude for the temple of my body that houses me on this amazing journey.
I bow in gratitude for the abundance of my spirit that is indomitable and always, always pushes to be heard and seen in fulness and authenticity.



Let us rejoice on this birthday of mine in the deep security of knowing that each of us here with one special purpose.

Let us rejoice on this birthday of mine in the nourishing feeling of being held and lovingly guided.

I pray find in me the endless trust to accept my special purpose, even though my mind may not know what this purpose is or what its full expression is.

I pray to find in me endless patience. With myself and with others.

I pray to find in me the vision that we’re all in this together. That we’re all connected. That we all signed up for this journey together.

I pray to remember that I am good enough. Just like everyone else is good enough.



Let us rejoice on this birthday of mine in the deep security of knowing that each of us here with one special purpose.

Let us rejoice on this birthday of mine in the nourishing feeling of being held and lovingly guided.

I pray for the insight to recognize that which no longer serves my highest expression and best health.

I pray for the strength to lovingly release that which no longer serves my highest expression and best health.

I pray for the clarity to see that whatever has lapsed to serve my highest purpose has also lapsed to serve the highest purpose of all involved.
I pray for the grace to release that which does not serve, and to fully embrace whatever it is that does serve.

I pray for the humility and courage to wake up each morning, and to joyfully and sincerely ask, and sit still to receive the answer: “How can I serve today?”
