Distance Healing with Energy - can't rely on the regular power grid for this one...

For trained energy healers with distance healing experience, this isn’t really a question. We just know it works, because we can feel the energy flowing, and because we use it every day. Chances are, on the path to offering distance healing sessions, we ourselves have signed up for someone else’s. We easily forget that this distance healing thing is whole new animal to many of our new clients.

When I first came across Reiki as a hands-on massage-like treatment as a client, I had no trouble envisioning that it could work. After all, I had already been to quite a few sessions with a skilled acupuncturist (also an energy healing modality), and come out of those feeling better than going in. And that’s exactly what happened in the first Reiki sessions I enjoyed.

Our minds are incredibly powerful tools! ...

... I was open for the Reiki energy, so I felt it very acutely in those personal massage-treatments. This sparked my curiousity, and soon enough, I had my first Reiki training under my belt. I would Reiki myself whenever I had a chance. And eventually gave hands-on treatments to friends and family. With amazingly relaxing results. The trouble was, the people I wanted to help most – my grandparents – were living hours away from me.

Over the years, I progressed naturally through more Reiki training, all the way to becoming a Reiki Master & Teacher. On that path, I learned the distance treatment technique, among other things. And – even more importantly than knowing the rituals and symbols – I learned to trust that the energy flows.

But I first needed to know what it feels like as a recipient of distance healing. When I searched the internet for distance Reiki services, and signed up with a healer named Rob (who has become a close friend over the years), I was having serious doubts. After all, the guy was located in the UK and I in Germany – and the only connection we had was through his website and email!

My doubts were quickly put aside, though, when I received an email from my healer acknowledging my order and asking for clarification what I wanted the energy for. He announced my first session for the following day, yet I immediately felt the by then familiar tingle on top of my head that I had come to know and love from any hands-on energy session I had given or received.

I was stunned: the energy really did work over the distance! So, just by virtue of mutual acknowledgement of my order, the connection between Rob, who was then a complete stranger to me, and myself, had been established.

The two most important ingredients for a successful energetic connection to my mind are:

• SETTING THE INTENTION to connect in a positive way.
• TRUSTING that this works, even though we may not consciously know how exactly.
